I WROTE AND RECORDED THIS EP IN 2 DAYS IN SUMMER 2022. IT WAS SPUR OF THE MOMENT: NO FRILLS, NO EXPERIMENTS, JUST BLUNT ANGER ABOUT EVERYTHING IN THE WORLD THAT’S FUCKED. CLIMATE CHANGE, RESOURCE WARS, TRANSPHOBIA, POLICE WEAPONIZATION, ABORTION BANS, DEAD JOURNALISTS, CRUSHING WORK CONDITIONS, FASCISTS, AND ECOSYSTEM COLLAPSE. THIS MUSIC FELT TOO STRAIGHTFORWARD FOR BURST SYNAPSE, SO I MADE A NEW PERSONA TO EXPRESS WHAT I NEEDED TO.

I made this EP last year, one day after Shireen Abu Akleh, a Palestinian journalist, was murdered by the IDF, and a song on it is about her. What’s going on in Gaza is an act of genocide, and Palestinians need our support more than ever. As such, 100% of the proceeds from this release will be donated to the the Palestine Children’s Relief Fund, a nonprofit that provides critical medical and humanitarian aid to Palestinian youth. As with all my releases, I will provide this music for free upon release, but I strongly encourage you, in the spirit of solidarity, to pay as much as you can. Half of the people living in Gaza are under 18, and thousands of children have been counted among the innocent civilians killed since the beginning of the Israeli Defence Forces' brutal incursion into the strip. This makes the PCRF's work all the more tragically essential. A ceasefire, an end to apartheid, and reparations to Palestinians—whose lands were stolen in still-living memory—are non-negotiable. As a Jew, I've always resented the Israeli government's insistence that their aim is to protect me or to represent my interests in any way—segregation and violence can never be the basis for lasting peace. I know that one day, the fight can end and the perpetrators of these monumental crimes against humanity can be brought to justice. I know that Palestine can become a place where Muslims, Jews, Christians, Arabs—people of all creeds and ethnicities—can live together in peace, community, and cooperation. But that day cannot come without the tireless fight of the Palestinian people and their allies, so I urge everyone to do what they can to help, whether it be protesting, donating, organizing, publicly advocating, or bearing witness to the atrocities still unfolding before our eyes.
